Not bad.

This is an idea you could really build on.
First of all, maybe you could have the levels be a little more interesting than just black and white, ya know? Have actually nice looking backgrounds and level themes.
Also, including medals and upgrades wouldn't hurt.
The game was fun for a while. I liked the idea a lot.

Masterpiece

I will admit, I never played the first game. But I get the idea.
Point and click adventures can either be done very right or very wrong.
Needless to say, yours was done very right.
It was challenging, but not SO challenging that it drove me crazy.
The environments were gorgeous. I mean, seriously. The art in this is top notch.
All of the characters and areas were so quirky.
Not to mention the storyline was actually very well planned out.
Amazing job. If I could give you 11 stars, I would.

I must have missed something.

It was a great idea, but at times I just kind of felt like I wasn't accomplishing anything. The enemies weren't difficult enough, and it would have been a lot more fun with upgrades. Also, I know the graphics were purposely old school and pixelated, but it was just a huge turn off for me.
I'm giving it a 7 because it was obviously NOT a bad game judging by the other scores. I must have just missed something.

Not a bad mix.

This game is pretty good mix between a TD game and your average shooter.
However, once I'd upgraded all six of my side weapons, both my alien labs, and my main gun...there was just nothing left to do.
Seems how I had that done by level 16 or 17, there's a lot of time after that spent just earning a bunch of money that you can't spend.
If you build on this, it could be something perfect.

I loved it!

Very original. Very fresh. Great ideas. It kind of felt like a new, exciting mini game every time. I knocked off a star because it felt short. I could have played 100 more innovative gems like that.

Damn.

I'm sorry, but this just didn't do it for me.
Don't get me wrong, I completely understand the humor and I find it quite funny. Especially the concept of accidentally (spoiler alert) *killing the final boss before the journey even starts* (spoiler end) but I was getting irritated with all the enemy upgrading and whatnot. The game is short, but not short enough for the joke you're trying to pull off.
Nice animation and very authentic music though. So good job there.

Loved it!

Awesome concept and a really nice soundtrack.
I'm giving it a 9 because it was too short.
But you got the point across, and I thought it was very creative and risky.
Good job.

Gorgeous. But..

I keep hearing people say this is Okami inspired. I think "inspired" is an understatement. But either way, the game is very beautiful. I imagine those graphics and these levels must have taken a lot of hard work and dedication. Which is what all 7 of your rating goes too. Because other than that it couldn't keep my interest. The motion wasn't very fluid. The combat system was very fun at first, but eventually got repetitive. It's a really great idea that could have been a very incredible game. And I'm interested in what else you have to offer. Possibly even in this similar style.

Geometry Snores

I appreciate that there's a game on this website with multiple modes and bonus games. But the terrible techno music, the difficulty, the sometimes unresponsive protagonist (dude didn't shoot in the right direction), and the blatant plagiarism of Geometry Wars doesn't make the modes and bonuses worth exploring.

Upgrade me, Scotty.

I loved the art. I loved the music. They were perfect. And the game play was pretty great too. But, it's very difficult to play level after level of harder and harder enemies when all you ever really have is that one measly shot. If this game were remade with a shitload of upgrades it would become easily one of my favorites.

ChromeShark responds:

Given that most people have asked for upgrades I'll almost definitely include them in some form when I come round to making a follow up to this, which will probably be next year.
